Brian Davison
Veteran coach Brian Davison is entering his 14th season in the Track and Field program at Deer Park Jr/Sr High School, continuing to provide science based performance knowledge and support for the student-athletes under his watch. Davison is in his fourth year as Director of Track and Field. He previously served as the program’s junior high head track coach and high school cross country coach, coaching with his wife Shannon.
Since 2008, Davison has coached numerous CHL conference champions, regional qualifiers, and state qualifiers on the men’s and women’s sides in both track and field and cross country.
Numerous individuals have advanced as OHSAA Regional qualifiers during Davison's tenure, as well, annually student-athletes have earned All-CHL honors in outdoor track and field.
This past season, the Running Wildcats had five All-Conference performances at the CHL Championships, with Allison Miller claiming 2nd in both the women’s shot (32-02) and disc (89-10), becoming the first athlete in Deer Park history to achieve all CHL in both track and softball in the same season. Michael Beamer placed second in both the 100HH and 300H events with times of 17.43 and 43.64 respectfully. Robbie Fischer placed third in the men's pole vault with a height 9-06, breaking his then personal record.
Beamer, Fischer, and Jasean Denson excelled at the New Richmond OHSAA Div. III Regional Tournament and earned berths as regional qualifiers in Troy. Denson reached a personal best 39-0.75 in shot. Miller's performance in the OSAA Div. II Tournament earned her a Piqua regional berth in disc.
An expert in the distance events and program organization, Davison also serves as the primary pole vault coach and supplements the sprint and vertical jump teams. The Running and Throwing Wildcats coaching staff have prepared multiple state qualifiers in outdoor track running, throwing, and cross country in the last 13 years.
A product of the nation’s most storied military branch, the US Army, Davison is no stranger to success and physical preparedness. He has an expansive knowledge base in the sport – based on coaching, clinical experience and personal running experience on the Ohio Army National Guard Marathon team.
He now spends the working day as a special education teacher at Deer Park Jr/Sr High School. Marathon distance running has taken a backseat to gardening, road cycling and taking care of thee daughters, 9, 7, and 3 - and doggo.

Adam Pettyjohn
At Norwood, Adam Pettyjohn was the High School head coach for track and field. While working with Gamble Montessori, Adam coached football at the Jr. High and varsity levels, from coaching the skilled positions. Finally, at Reading coach Adam was assistant to the legendary Coach Bill Bretz.
Coach Adam currently work for Greater Cincinnati Water Works as a engineer technician 3 and working on becoming a land surveyor in the future. He attends Cincinnati State Technical college currently to accomplish getting his bachelor’s in civil engineering as a Land Surveyor.
in 2020 Deer Park welcomed the return of Pettyjohn. Since his return, he has applied his expertise in speed development and technique to serve as primary sprints and hurdles coach for the men and women's team. In his second year Pettyjohn trained first year junior Michael Beamer to regional qualifier status in both hurdle events.During his days as a Wildcat, he blistered the track in the following events:

Pettyjohn was a 3 time Track and field MVP, holds the Deer Park HS record in 300 hurdles (39.65), with a personal best in the 110 hurdles of 14.85
He was an integral part of the 2009 District championship team, 2009 CHL runner of the year, and in 2009 was the 1st Deer Park Track Athlete to be a state qualifier state since Dale Mercer (110HH) in 1980. He made the 2008 regional finals in the 300 hurdles, 2009 regionals finals in the 300 and 110 hurdles.
Off the track he had success in on the gridiron, as 1st team all CHL in 2008 as a Defensive back, 1st team all southwest Ohio DB, 3rd team all state for DB, and represented Deer Park in the East-West senior bowl.
Adam is happily married to his wife Chelsey who also attended Deer Park. They have 2 kids together, Trevor (7) and Harper (1). In his off time, he spends his time enjoying working on cars and being outside.
